Dear GG Writers,

Congrats! You’ve ruined every single character that I’ve cared about as well as the only ship that was halfway decent. I thought that this season was about Blair growing and finding herself, but that’s not how things turned out. Apparently, she’s just as stupid as everyone else.

If you wanted to portray Blair as an abused wife, congratulations! You just did that by having her go back to Chuck. After all, the abused always go back to their abusers, don’t they? They always return because they have nowhere to go and because the grass is always greener with someone whom they supposedly love. I’m sorry, but Chuck and Blair is not true love. It was never true love. It was an abusive, manipulative relationship whose foundation was a strip-tease and a make out session in the back of a limo.

Dair was true love. They genuinely cared about each other. They wanted the best for each other. They couldn’t stop smiling at the mention of each other’s name. The most important thing, though, is that they found out who they truly were and that their class differences were not the one thing that made or broke their relationship. Even when they were fighting at the airport, the relationship felt real because it was.

I truly don’t understand why the finale was such an about face from the build up that was created for the last few episodes. Was it really necessary for Blair to tell Chuck that she loves him for the umpteenth fucking time? Is she really that stupid to go back to a man who slept with Dan’s sister? Doesn’t she remember how she dumped his sorry entitled ass back then? Or did aliens decide to settle in her brain and erase every last memory of the times that Chuck abused her verbally, emotionally, and psychologically? I’m going for that because there is no other way to explain the way her character was developed in the finale.

Oh and another thing! If you were writers that were worth their salt, you would have sat down and written out the relationships way before the show ever started and you would have decided there and then exactly how things would turn out. It’s what every novelist does. Instead of giving us all of the weird storylines and unintelligible about faces for the last five seasons, you would have given us characters that made sense as individuals and as a collective. Not only that, but they would have been three dimensional rather than the two dimensional, card board stereotypes that they are.

Once again, I would congratulate you on ruining the only ship that I truly cared about on this show and professing your belief that abuse sells. I really hope that you and your Chairlings have the time of your lives next season. As for me, I’m out for good and I’m not coming back.

On Plagiarism

I don’t usually get riled up about things, but I’ve been really pissed about something lately that’s been going on in one of my fandoms and I would like to address that here. I’m not mentioning names because the guilty and the innocent know who they are and what they have done. I’m merely addressing the issue because it has to be talked about.
